Abstract

The crane has a gantry beam (12) supported on end legs (9) which can travel on rails (2) on either side of the hold. The crane has a telescopic jib (13) and can travel along the gantry between end stops (10). The inside of the hold has vertical support rods (17) which carry the support pads (16). To dismantle the crane, the gantry is lowered onto the support pads after being detached from the legs. The legs may then be un-shipped and stowed, the crane is stowed flat along the gantry which may then be lowered to the bottom of the hold. This work can be completed in 2-3 hours.
