Abstract

Position detectors on each floor produce speed monitoring signals. There is a system of stopping the cabin even when a call signal is received from the next floor, and maximum speed has not been reached even though the call had been made within stopping distance at the nominal speed of travel. The system includes a signal generator, operated when the speed is still low, which registers the actual speed at a given moment and signals the maximum speed which the cabin can be allowed to reach, in order to stop in time. This is compared with a signal showing the instantaneous speed of the cabin produced by a tachometric generator driven by the control motor, and produces a braking signal when there is sufficient time for the cabin to be stopped.
