Abstract

The heat exchanger is formed from a sheet of metal which is folded over at the centre leaving one edge open. The two opposing edges of one side are formed to give a raised lip, equal in height to the separator bosses formed on the sheet surface of both sides. A tube (22), forming the core of the heat exchanger is gripped in a driving socket (20) and the folded sheet wound over it to provide several layers. Plastic spacers (8) fit in the raised lips and stops (26) ensure all ends are in alignment with each other. These ends are then welded together to complete the assembly.
