Abstract
The device is composed of a lower cone (1) of which the internal surface consists of a reflector, an upper transparent cone (2) admitting the solar rays, an upper transparent cone (3) above cone (2), a black axial duct (4) and a cockpit (6). External air is admitted through ports (7) at the periphery of the upper cone, into the interior where it is heated and passes through duct (4) to drive a dynamo which charges batteries and to the outside atmosphere through the space between the cones (2), (3). The heated air lifts the device to stop the machine, the upper valve (9) is opened, and intake ports (7) are closed. To start the machine, valve (9) is closed, ports (7) are opened, allowing heated air to escape in selected directions for steering and propulsion. An electrical heater powered by the batteries can be used, when solar energy is not available, to heat the air.
