Abstract

The crane is capable of loading itself on the vehicle transporting it between sites. The tower (2) is supported on a base (1) and the tailweight unit (4) travels up and down the tower. The jib (3) is attached to the top end of the tower, and jib, tower and base fold together, so that the tower rests on the tailweight unit, in turn supported on the lorry platform. The base can be supported from the ground by adjustable screw jacks (6). The tailweight unit can have an upper supporting face for the tower when folded, being secured to the tower so as to slide on it by detachable couplings, so that the tower can fold over into the horizontal position.
