Abstract

In order to limit the ink cloud to the desired printing width (A) an air stream supply unit (109) directs air onto those regions of the paper which are not to be used for printing. This unit comprises a belt ( having a U-shaped section (117) which can be adjusted to the required printing width and is connected to the air supply opening. The air leaving the supply opening is divided into two streams one of which is directed onto the printing surface of the paper while the other falls on the region which is not to be printed.
