Abstract

An infra red cooker or heater for food, to be used in large restaurants, canteens etc., uses on or more conveyor belts which may be integral with the oven or separate, so that a constant continuous flow of food can be maintained for increased output. The speed of the belts can be varied by a suitable control mechanism incorporated with the drive, and the size of the oven can be made to conform with the belt speed and length. The belts do not affect the operation of the oven. Loading and unloading can take place outside the oven, and screens can be fitted at the feed and discharge ends to form the oven chamber between. Unlike conventional ovens, there is not time lost for stopping, starting, loading and unloading.
