Abstract

The auto-setting bentonite mix liquid is for use in supporting trench sides during reinforced concrete foundation wall construction, the liquid placed in trench and wall placed by displacement. The mix features the ability to incorporate relatively large proportions of bentonite; can be pre-mixed, thus, obviating an intermediary operation; and eventually sets to form a strong infill between the sub-soil and the permanent wall. The mixture embodies water, cement, bentonite, hydraulic lime and/or cinders, and hydraulic material with latent fillers, in mass proportions of 40 to 80%, 10 to 40%, 2 to 18%, 15% and 40% resp. Stabilizing, setting regulating and plastifying additives are also utilized, and the ratio by weight of water to powders is between 0.5 to 1 and 6.5 to 1.
