Abstract

Hard metal component, e.g. a turning chisel or drill, that can be welded to another metal part, e.g. a steel holder, consists of a mixt. of powdered, abrasion-resistant material (I) and a matric material (II) with good welding properties. At least at the place where the hard metal component is to be welded to the other part, the concn. of (II) is several times greater than (I). Enables the hard metal component to be strongly and accurately welded to the other part, without changing the structures of the parts. The prod. has good properties and a long operating life. (I) pref consists of WC or TiC and (II) of Co.
