Abstract

The sink unit comprises a basin (2) and a draining board (1) which are connected together along the perimeter of an opening (3) in the draining board (1). The edge (4) of this opening (3) is bent into a circular shape and connecting members (6) which protrude vertically down from the underneath of the draining board (1) are fastened at regular intervals around the underneath of the curved edge of the board and are provided at their free end with an annular groove (7). The upper edge of the basin (2) is provided with an outwardly bent flange (8) which is provided with holes (9) corresponding to the connecting members (6). To attach the basin (2) the flange (8) adjoins the underneath of the board (1) and the connecting members (6) pass through the holes (9) so that the projecting part which is provided with the annular groove (7) is then fitted with a resilient ring (11) to ensure the necessary seal and connection. An additional packing (10) can be inserted between the ring and the board (1) if required.
