Abstract

The protective circuit breaker, with test key, has the supply lines forming a summation transformer's primary and causing its secondary voltage to operate a release system (7, 12) that opens the circuit breaking contacts in the primary side. The test circuit consists of a resistor (10) in series with the test key (2) and connected by one pair of circuit breaking contacts (14) to the transformer's primary side. The unconnected end of the key switch is coupled to the first end of the transformer's secondary winding. The second end of the secondary is connected to the primary side.
