Abstract
A single- or multi-core electric cable includes a rubber or plastics dielectric insulator (I) applied by extrusion and a (semi-)conductor layer (II) of rubber or plastics, an intermediate layer (III) being provided between (I) and (II) such that the cohesion of (III) is less than that of (I) and of (II), and is also less than the adhesion between (III) and (II) and pref. also less than the adhesion between (III) and (I), so that when layer (II) is peeled off the cable, e.g., for connection or termination purposes, sepn. occurs within layer (III) leaving part of layer (III) over the extruded layer (I). Provision of layer (III) facilitates removal of the layer (II).
