Abstract

The reciprocating component works in a chamber with valve-controlled inlet and outlet ports, a first set of sealing devices isolating the component from the drive housing. A second chamber (14) is connected to the intake (3) upstream of the inlet valve (4), and the first sealind devices (13) are fitted between this chamber and the one (2) in which the component works. Second sealing devices (15) are fitted between the second chamber and the drive housing and mechanism (11, 12), where the component passes through the second chamber. Thus when there is a leak through the first sealing device the escaping liquid is collected in the second chamber and recycled without reaching the drive mechanism.
