Abstract

A first hydraulic cylinder moves the device sideways; and a second hydraulic cylinder moves it forwards and backwards. Between the inlet and outlet pipe of each hydraulic unit is a control valve with a first and second position for closing and opening the duct between the two pipes. After the gripping-arms have fixed round a tree, a valve is in a closed position, and momentarily opens before the cutter operated. A cutter contact closes the circuit of a time-switch relay in one contact position of which is enclosed a circuit for the valve, operating a return force. In the other contact position of the relay, the operating circuit is opened and the release circuit for the cutter is closed.
