Abstract

The therapeutic training bicycle, determines the pressure in gramme-force exerted by feet open on the pedals and controls the effort needed to be applied on the pedal. The bicycle has pedals (9) and a crnkwheel (1) which can, by means of a chain (2), rotate another wheel (3). A lever (16) and pulley (4) apply a load on the driven wheel (3). The value of the load is determined by the position of a weight (7) on the lever (16). The effort exerted by the patient can be established by reading the position of the weight (7) along the graduated part (6) of the lever (16). The weight (7) may be replaced by a spring connected to a rod with one end adjustable along a graduated scale to measre the effort on the pulley (4).
