Abstract

A woven fabric is advanced through a feed roll assembly comprising at least a driven roll and a parallel presser roll acting on the driven roll to form a nip through which the fabric passes. The fabric is rolled up on a driven take-up roll which lies generally in the plane of the nip of the feed roll assembly and whose axis is inclined at an angle (alpha) to the axes of the rolls of the feed roll assembly. The angle of inclination (alpha) determined the angle of bias of the fabric. The fabric is used as a reinforcement for plastic articles. The method of producing a woven bias fabric is simple and cheap.
