Abstract

Method of fabrication by blowing is claimed for sheets of plastics matl in an installation ensuring direct internal cooling of a flexible tube which is to be formed into sheet, and through which the blowing fluid is blown, and is characterised in that the fluid is injected into the duct at low temp. as a liquid which evaporates inside the duct, the fluid being injected at supersonic velocity. The fluid is pref. N2. The plant for producing the sheet is much simpler and cheaper to construct and maintain than plant of prior art using a ventilator through which water runs to coal air used to blow the plastic sheet, while condensate has to be collected and pumped away from the heat exchanger. Cooling is faster.
