Abstract

The cooling tower, incorporates a heat-exchanger unit for exchanging heat from a liquid with a current of atmospheric air. This unit is succeeded by a mixer chamber, which has one intake connected with the air outlet from the exchanger unit and one for reception of the air current from outside, and an outlet permanently linked to the surrounding atmosphere. The second intake is equipped for regulation of the throughput of the current of outside air, by means of adjustable Venetian blind type flaps, or by one or more ventilators driven at variable speeds. The emission of objectionable vapour fumes can be considerably reduced.
