Abstract

The waste gases at a temperature of 500 deg.C from an industrial process such as cement or glass manufacture are transmitted from the collector (1) through the pipe (2) to a turbine (4) which drives a compressor (8) and a generator (15). The gasses then pass through a heat exchangers (5) which supplies hot water to the pipe line (18). The gases having been cooled to 150 deg.C then pass through two gas scrubbers (6, 7) before flowing into the compressors (8). The compressed gases then pass through a final heat exchanger (9) which also supplies heat to the pipe line (18). The purified gases are then expelled to atmosphere or recycled via the pipe.
