Abstract

Magnetic circuit with cooling channels for transformer or choke coil. The stampings are divided into stacks which are separated by spacer plates (5a) leaving gaps from which the channels are formed. The spacer plates are made from non magnetic material such as aluminium, with naps (6) pressed out of the surface. The naps can have various geometric shapes, such as a pyramid or cone with sawn off top. Each nap occupies an area of only a few square centimetres, and there will always be some near the end when the plate is cut into shape. The naps will be produced on one side of the plate only. Each nap has a ventilation hole (7).
