Abstract

The coupling is for flexible pipes with smooth external surfaces, having a screwed section with a sleeve portion, and a nut. The seal is formed by contact between two elastic surfaces of natural or synthetic material, typically between the flexible pipe inner surface and the outside of a bush on the sleeve. The external bush diameter can be such as to cause the end of the pipe to bell out. At the outlet end the clear internal diameter of the nut can be equal to or slightly greater than the pipe external diameter. The length of the bush can be such as to allow it to work in conjunction with the outlet end of the nut.
