Abstract

Each tooth has a right angled triangle section, its hypotenuse (3) rising from a base to a peak at the rear. The third side (2) comprises a vertical rear face. A saw-tooth is formed by spacing the profiles at regular intervals. Each peak has a wedge shaped lip (4) facing rearwards into the space between adjacent profiles. Across the width of each lip may be a groove (6, 7) on either the top face or the lower and giving a thinned down section and forming a hinge about which the tongue can flex in use. The lips grip the snow to prevent rearwards ski movement.
