Abstract

The output of the pump is regulated electrically and in such a way that the output may be reduced to zero and the engine stopped. The pump is connected to the speed governor by means of a linkage. The linkage connects the pump control mechanism through an electromagnet. The current in the coil of the electromagnet is variable or can operate on an on-off principle. The movement of the core in the electromagnet is controlled by the main spring and the return spring. The final adjustment of the regulating link may be made by means of the lock nuts.
