Abstract
5(3) amino pyrazole, of formula: is a new cpd. prepd. by reacting acetyl nitrate with 3(5)-phenyl 5(3)-acylamino pyrazole (II). It may be diazotised and coupled to give dyes. Diazotization is pref. carried out in the presence of low mol. wt. acids, e.g. acetic or propionic or concentrated mineral acid. In an example 84 pts. cpd. (II) were dissolved in 100 pts. glacial acetic acid 370 pts., acetic acid were added gradually, then, after 1/2 hr., 42 pts. fuming HNO3 in 300 pts. glacial acetic acid. The product was stirred for 48 hrs. and cpd. (I) pptd. by dilution with ice/water mixture.
