Abstract

The pump has a tube with one end at an angle of 135 deg. to the remainder with a drive spindle, passing through one wall of the sloping part and down the middle of the remainder, protected by a coaxial tube. The end of the spindle projecting from the two tubes is connected to a drive motor, and the other end carries a helical blade, a suitable seal being located between the spindle and the inner tube at this end, this inner tube being suitably supported inside the outer tube. In an alternative design, the outer tube may be flexible, and the spindle being correspondingly flexible. The end of the tube enclosing the blade requires to be immersed in the fluid to be pumped.
