Abstract

The valve has a seating (4) and two valve plates (5, 6). These enclose between them a chamber (7) from which a bore (8) leads to atmosphere, thus indicating when leakage is taking place past the first valve (5). A cleaning pipe (15) leads to the chamber, to allow cleaning fluid to be injected, this then draining away via the bore. Thus no dismantling is necessary in order to achieve through mechanical cleaning of the chamber and the design is particularly suitable for use in the foodstuffs industry. The valve spindle (10) can e.g. be controlled by a compressed-air cylinder.
