Abstract
The device for the continuous annealing of tubes and hollow parts, esp. coils of tubing, in a reactive gas for surface descaling and where a non-oxidising gas is fed through the tube to descalel the bore, has a flexible gas supply device fed through the furnace simultaneously with the coils of tubing, the gas supply device being provided with connections for joining it to the coils. The gas supply device can be located above or below the roller hearth, and if a furnace with a moving wall is used, the gas connections can be fixed to the moving wall, using a rotary connection to the gas source. Alternatively, the gas manifold pipe can travel through a stationary gas supply chamber fitted with a gas inlet. The device is used for descaling tube coils before precision drawing.
