Abstract

A refuse incineration plant has a steel outer casing lined with heat resisting material in a retort shaped construction with a sieve and removal system for uncombustible material. Refuse is fed into the system by conveyor through apertures. A flow of highly compressed air from a pressure hose is blown in through a jet parallel to the opposite wall and then circulates the material around the lower section of the combustion chamber where everything combustible is burned. Waste gases are discharged through an exhaust system to a heat exchange system and an air cleaner. Initial light up is by burners centrally passing through the combustion chamber.
