Abstract

The device is for windscreens or rear windows of automobiles and uses the impedance between two condensation detecting electrodes to actuate heating circuits the reliability of this system is increased by effecting the variation of impedance wrt ambient temperature. The device is designed to operate in conditions of persistent condensation formation with thermistors or semi-conductors used to detect temperature variation. The detectors are mounted in series with resistors of effect impedance variations. The detector circuit is connected to an oscillator through a capacitor and an a.c. is supplied at between 100 and 1000Hz.
