Abstract

Decorated surfaces made by cleaning the surface of a metallic support, applying a surface coating primer if required, then applying powdered thermoplastic or thermo-setting resin cpds. to create the required pattern or design on the metal surface in matl. which may be fused or cured to consolidate its position. The pattern may be modified by subsequent treatment if required. Used for mfr. of metal panels or rollers with relief pattern, for making pictures or signs for interior or exterior display. The coherent resin pattern may be transferred to a sec. support or framework, e.g., to make coloured, translucent architectural decorations. Various combinations of colours are readily achieved.
