Abstract

The demountable hammock, or hammock with temporary support structure, is for installation inside buildings and constitutes a body support net (10) hanging from two columns (17) which are wedged by screw jacks between floor (S) and ceiling (P). The net is of the extensible mesh form and incorporates suspension clasps (12, 14) at head and toe; these clasps engaging hanger rings (30) provided at equally distributed vertical intervals on the columns. The columns are hollow and may be externally longitudinally ribbed or grooved to improve flexural strength. The screw jacks have threaded studs screwing into the ends of the columns and horizontal bearing plates.
