Abstract

The installation consists of at least one main track (and branches into stations. On the main track a vehicle, or vehicles, run at constant speed and they are diverted into stations as required. The station parts are at a level below (or above) that of the main track, reached by inclines (3, 3a). The track can be of rails or any similar device. The gauge of the side tracks is less than that of the main lines. To accommodate this, the vehicles have wheels to allow for gauge variation and extra rails are provided at the point of change of gauge.
