Abstract

A foam seat, esp. a car seat, with a cover is formed by stitching together top and side panels, of the cover with a beaded edging having a connected portion of reduced thickness projecting from it and terminating in a circular cross section rib. The cover is then placed in a mould and the connecting portion and rib are clamped in a frame to hold the cover in the correct position whilst a plastic foam seat pad is moulded onto the top panel. After moulding the connecting portion with the rib are removed so that the beaded edging forms a junction between the top panel and side panels.
