Abstract

The bumper is manufactured using a hollow mould comprising a female part and male part. The former part has a centrally located raised surface covered by an adhesive layer on whose outer surface is stuck the metallic decorative strip. The top and bottom edges of the strip project beyond the extremities of the raised surface. The two mould parts are then coupled together and the plastic cover is formed so that it encompasses the projecting edges of the decorative strip. The strip has a smooth reflecting surface which can be revealed by removing the adhesive layer after the manufacture of the bumper.
