Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an ornamental molding having beautiful appearance and the superior installation performance by integrally forming a desired terminal part which surrounds the stripe piece part for shaped decoration through injection molding, etc. CONSTITUTION:As for the terminal part of a molding 20, the both side parts are cut by a prescribed length, leaving a stripe piece part 22' for decoration, and the lower part of the stripe piece part 22' is partly cut in a curved surface from the back surface of a body part 21. Therefore, the terminal part is constituted of the ornamental stripe piece 22' on the upper surface and a little part of the molding body part 21. The molding terminal part thus worked is positioned between the metal molds 24 and 24' forming a desired cavity 23. Molten plastic is introduced under pressure from a gate 28. The plastic introduced under pressure fills the cavity 23 and is fused onto the stripe piece part 22' for decoration and the cut and ground parts of the lace body 20 and covers the upper surface of the swelled-out part of the stripe piece part 22', and thus a terminal corresponding part having a desired bottom surface is shaped.

In recent years, the side molding 10 has been increasingly focused on its vehicle body protection function, and there is a tendency for the side molding 10 to become wider and larger. Also, this side molding is located approximately at the center of the side of the vehicle body as shown in Figure 1.
In addition, since they are arranged in a substantially straight line from the front to the rear of the vehicle body, their decorative function is also important, and the widened ones described above are required to be more decorative.

Therefore, instead of the conventional single color (usually black) type, there is a tendency to adopt one with a decorative film or the like attached to the surface or one with a multicolor structure.

On the other hand, instead of conventional metal parts, these side moldings are often made of plastic, especially extruded molded parts, which are easy to obtain in long lengths. Multicolor extrusion using plastics, or extrusion coated molded products in which decorative films, metal foils, etc. are attached or embedded during molding (examples are shown in FIGS. 2 and 6) are often used. Hereinafter, a decorative part such as a unique color part or a decorative film attached to the surface of the main body constituting the molding will be referred to as a decorative strip 12.

By the way, although a long molding 10 is suitable, it is necessary to cut the molding 10 for use in doors, etc., and the cut part must be beautifully finished so as not to harm the human body. I need to be there. Therefore, as one of the finishing structures of the molding terminal part, as shown in FIG. When molding by injection molding etc., terminal structures such as integral adhesion (welding and molding) on the cut surface of the molding have been proposed. On the other hand, in the case of large moldings as mentioned above, the terminal parts are also attached to the molding. A harmonious appearance is required, and therefore the terminal piece 7 also tends to be large in the longitudinal direction of the molding. In the case where the wire 14 is bent and there is a lack of unity between the two, and the decorative strip 12 is integrated on the surface of the molding base 11 as described above, the decorative strip 12 is the connection part. However, it has been proposed that a decorative strip be provided on the terminal beep 16 in the same way as on the mold body, and that the decorative strip be glued or fitted. In many cases, the strips and the molding body were in different positions, which tended to impair the sense of unity. Also, when gluing end pieces together by injection molding, etc., it is necessary to use multicolor molding to achieve a similar configuration. However, it was inevitable that Nanai would suffer from the same drawbacks as the above-mentioned adhesives, etc., as the process, molds, etc. became more complicated.

Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above points, and the gist thereof is to remove a desired amount of the decorative strip side part and the lower molding main body in the molding terminal part, It is a molding in which the end portion of the metal strip portion is shaped into a curved surface, and the desired end portion surrounding the shaped decorative strip portion is integrally molded by injection molding or the like.

To explain the present invention based on an embodiment, FIG.
0, a decorative strip 22 such as a decorative film or metal foil is attached to the upper surface of the molding main body 21 and is continuous in the longitudinal direction, or both sides of the decorative strip 22 are embedded in the molding main body 21. I'm going to visit you as soon as I can. The decorative strip 22 is normally covered and peeled off as a single piece when the molding main part 21 is pressed and molded, and its back surface and the molding main body part 21 are very firmly adhered to each other.

The end portion of this molding 20 is a decorative strip portion 2 as shown in the figure.
A predetermined length of both sides of the strip 221 is removed, leaving 21, and the lower part of the strip 221 is partially curved from the back surface of the main body 21 to remove the lower part, as shown in the view of arrow D in FIG. will be deleted. Accordingly, one end portion consists of a decorative strip 22'' on the upper surface and a small molding body portion 21.

Note that the bottom surface of this terminal portion does not necessarily have to be flat, and if the terminal portion is placed on a tire house or the like, an @ mark is provided. This protrusion 26 has a radial and long awn that is part of the decorative strip part 22.
It is said to be slightly smaller than those of ', and when pressed,
Both sides and ends of the decorative strip portion 22' are fitted together. Therefore, the ridge portion is exposed inside the cavity. Also, its surface is decorated with decorative strips 22.
Of course, the surface shape is approximately -.

It will be understood that the m 24 is pressed against the protrusion 26 of the upper mold 24, deforms, and comes into close contact with the lower m 24'. At this time, the lower cut surface of the decorative strip portion 22' does not need to be in close contact with the lower die 24' over the entire surface.

On the other hand, it is preferable that the end part of the molding produced by the apparatus at this time, that is, the decorative strip part 22' and the molding main body 20 connected thereto, be heated in advance, and the open surface of their cavity 26 may be heated as necessary. adhesive is applied.

Thereafter, molten plastic or the like is forced into the remaining cavity 26 through the gate 28. This press-fitted plastic fills the cavity 26 and is welded (adhered) to the decorative strip portion 2z and the cut and cut surfaces of the molding body 20, as well as the decorative strip portion 2? If there is a gap between the cut surface of the lower part of the decorative strip and the lower die, it will fit into that gap to form a terminal portion with a desired bottom surface. At this time, the heat of the molten plastic or the like heats the decorative strip portion 221, causing permanent deformation in the shape of the cavity 26 and -. Thus, the molding end section removed from the mold after assimilation (an example of which is shown in FIG. 9) becomes integral with the thermoformed decorative strip section 22'.
