Abstract

For production of a flow of air having an enriched ion content, particularly negative ions, in some enclosed space or chamber, the generator is set in a ventilation duct or conditioning system. The air flow which may be heated is driven by some form of fan. The ion generator is build into an earthed case and has a set of plates parallel to the air flow and connected by a cable to an EHT source (about 10 KV), the electrode spacing being dependent on the EHT level. Exit from the air duct is through a set of adjustable deflecting vanes.
