Abstract

The device fits between a pump and a pressure accumulator so as to maintain the pressure in the accumulator and the circuit supplied between two predetermined values, having a non-return valve in the pipe between pump and accumulator, and a shut-off valve either connecting the pump to the accumulator to recharge it, or to a discharge vessel. The shut-off valve plug is also spring-loaded into the recharging position, and thrust into the opposite direction by the accumulator pressure. Means are included for releasably locking the plug positively in one or both positions, typically in the form of a spring-loaded ball or pin, engaging in a mating recess.
