Abstract

A combined current and voltage transformer for use immersed in a dielectric liquid comprises a current transformer (10) fixed in the inside of a hollow insulator (12), and a voltage transformer (14) fixed below the current transformer and inside of a steel casing (16). The base of the insulator (12) is sealed to the casing (16) and the top of the insulator (12) carries a steel expansion chamber (20). The expansion chamber (20) has a glass-window liquid level indicator. The casing (16) has terminals (46, 76) for the secondary windings of the transformers and it is interconnected with the hollow insulator to form with the expansion chamber and the insulator a sealed container for the dielectric liquid and the transformers.
