Abstract

The device controls the electrical characteristics of a liquid insulating dielectric (22) for an electrical apparatus immersed in the liquid which is contained in a leakproof tank (20) and is particularly for electrical transformers of the integrally-filled type. The device comprises two electrodes (24, 26) at a fixed spacing which are fitted to the tank and immersed in the dielectric liquid, two external terminals (34, 36) which are connected to the electrodes and also to a voltage source (44) which enables the electrodes to have a potential difference between them, and a measurement device outside the tank which enables the electrical characteristics of the insulation to be controlled.
