Abstract

Safety unit for low power gas throughflow heater limits the period of continuous use. A probe is fitted in the throughflow region of the hot gas of the apparatus above the burner as a measuring feeler which is thermally connected to a thermally insulated mass outside this zone as a thermal capacity. The mass is connected thermally to a temperature sensitive element which interrupts or reduces the gas supply to the burner at above a preset temperature threshold. Preferably the temperature sensitive element is a thermo-contact in series with the thermoelement of the thermoelectric safety unit.
