Abstract
Liq-gas exchange process, e.g. for use in the treatment of water by means of ozone, comprises a vertical tube pierced with holes in its upper portion. This tube dips into a recipient (II) which is fed with water by a pipe and a pumping system. The liq. in the tube contains a multiplicity of bubbles created by the impact of a jet of liq. passing through the holes and striking the liq-gas interface. The tube dips into a de-gassing recipient (I) which is fitted with a pipe for liberating the gas deflected by the plate, from which it is re-cycled to (II). A tube connects (I) to (III); the latter is supplied with a tube for evacuating the treated liq. The gaseous press. in (III) is regulated by a valve. Operation of the appts. is extremely simple and there are no moving parts. There is no need for bubbling devices such as perforated plates and compressors while the used gas can be recycled without the expenditure of energy.
