Abstract

A yarn feed device for a circular knitting machine is driven by a main motor to which is coupled a regulator tachometer of which the electrical output is connected to the first input of a first integrating circuit via a manually adjustable variable resistance, and the second input of the first integrating circuit via a potentiometer controlled independence on the speed of knitting. A regulator circuit including a control tachometer coupled to the main motor has the output of the tachometer connected to the one of the inputs of a second integrating circuit, the other input being connected to the output of the first summing circuit. The output of the second summing circuit is connected to a power amplifier controlling the main motor. The device is used on small knitting machines used for stockings or panty hose. The feed device can control the yarn feed speed directly in dependence on the knitting speed.
