Abstract

The pump rotor is made by locating a magnet in a preshaped piece of plastics and applying an annular joint to the edge of this, the joint being in a special rubber such as viton, which will withstand the temp. employed in the subsequent mould operation and will withstand attack by chemicals being transported by the pump. The rotor is completed by injection moulding of a piece so that the magnet is completely surrounded. The rotor is axially and radially centralised by three rings in Al oxide, which are cast into the special rubber. The magnetically driven centrifugal pump has no seals and is partic. suitable for transporting corrosive liquids.
