Abstract

A sliding door lock uses a self-locking latch and, separate from the latch, a magnetic catch. The latch consists of two pivoting arms, one (1) resting on the other (4), with a leaf spring (3) resting on the first. The second, outer arm (4) has a nose (4a) which rests on a block on the frame as the door (2) is closed, and this acts as a guide for the other arm (1) on the inside, as it enters a recess (7) in the frame. Once engaged in this manner, the manget holds the door in the closed position.
