Abstract

Thermoplastics sheet is vacuum formed by heating the sheet, before it is applied into the vaccum mould, by a narrow transverse line of heating applied across the sheet and advanced longitudinally relative to the sheet. A long narrow jet of gas is pref. heated and blown onto the sheet the sheet being moved past the jet.
