Abstract

The travelling handrail for travelling stairs or belts for pedestrians has a number of links. Each link consists of a short length of handrail member whose ends are stepped so that one end overlaps the subsequent one and the other end is overlapped by the previous member. Each element accommodates two pivoting pins of the connecting chain which resembles roller link chain. Each link can be readily dismantled and the old element can be replaced with a new one. The individual links are readily mfd.
