Abstract

The wad is made of plastics and has a damper which consists of a cylinder with its axis at right angles to the axis of the cartridge to give better seating when using heavy charges than the cruciform-section damper as in 7001295. Under a crushing load, the transverse cylindrical damper gives an increased bearing surface, which increases with the degree of crushing. The design damper of this type is particularly for use in cartridges used in h unting. The cylindrical damper is hollow and its wals are of the correct thickness to give the desired degree of resilience.
