Abstract

The top plate (1) has a central shaft (2) rotating in bearings (4, 5) in the pedestal base (3). A worm (7) and worm-wheel (8) provide rotation by hand or motor. A brake (17) holds the top plate in position when in use. A recess (10) in the top of teh plate takes a ring (12) secured to it by screws, having an annular T-slot (14) in its under surface. Trip pins (15) fitting in the T-slot can be set and locked in position. A detector (16) fitted to the pedestal registers the presence of a trip pin, clamps the shaft and causes a locking ring (18) to rise and hold the pins securely.
