Abstract
A loom has a weft yarn selector device comprising a series of yarn clamps which retain the ends of several weft yarns and to which a weft yarn is transferred after picking, and a cutter which cuts the weft yarn after picking. The series of yarn clamps are moveable to position a selected weft yarn so that it can be picked up by a transfer arm and fed to a weft picker. The weft yarns are cut accurately after picking and each weft yarn is fed accurately and consistently along the same path to the weft picker, ensuring correct tensioning.
