Abstract

1300785 Knitting-machines J P STEVENS & CO Inc 8 Oct 1970 [20 Oct 1969] 48020/70 Heading D1C A weft thread transport apparatus for a warp machine comprises two endless chains 2L, 2R between which the wefts are laid by a transverse chain 16 and a turntable 11, and which carry the wefts to the knitting line. The weft yarn packages 10 are mounted on turntable 11 which has radial guide arms 12. The free end of the yarn is clamped by a pin 19 on the endless chain 16 at 22. The chain carries the free end to chain 2L while the running yarn is taken by the arm to the other chain 2R. Spring urged pins 3 clamp the yarn; its free end being cut.
